Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Inclusive Global Student Leadership and Engagement, manage and provide strategic direction for the global diversity education and training area within the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation spanning across and consulting with the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs and the LGBTQ Student Center. Craft institution-wide educational excellence standards around inclusion, diversity, belonging, and equity informed by current research and trends in higher education. Develop, implement, and assess diversity education curriculum for students, staff and faculty across the university globally; provide oversight of the planning, implementation and evaluation of diversity and training programs; and consult with university stakeholders on diversity training and education related matters; and provide direction to students, staff and faculty as needed within the context of diversity education. Oversee curricula development and course creation including, for example, the 1-2 credit Intergroup Dialogue course offered through the NYU Silver School of Social Work. Conduct research, assessment and evaluation of diversity related programs and initiatives and use evidence based practices and methods to align diversity related trainings and educational offerings across the university. Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to strengthen university relationships and expand educational offerings at the university that is accessible to internal and external constituents. Guide professional development plans of staff. Qualifications Required Education: Master?s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Social Sciences, Counseling or related field. Preferred Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in Education, Social Sciences, or related field strongly preferred. Knowledge of trends and best practices in global diversity education/training and assessment and research. ? Required Experience: 7+ years? relevant experience in diversity training and developing diversity and anti-bias related training curriculum, working with students, faculty, and administrators in the area of multicultural and diversity education within a global context. Branding, marketing and assessment of training and diversity education programs. Experience supervising professional staff or managing work teams. ? Preferred Experience: Previous experience developing and managing diversity education programs or units and facilitating ?training of trainers? programs. Experience in global diversity education/training and classroom teaching. Experience and overseeing research and assessment initiatives. ? Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Curriculum development and training expertise. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and to serve as a leader. Outstanding written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, Ability to adopt training materials for diverse audiences. Knowledge of presentation and on-line training software. Proficiency with standard office software. ? Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of trends and best practices in global diversity education/training and assessment and research.
