Position Summary Reporting to the Director of the LGBTQ Student Center, the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Student Center develops, implements, and assesses intersectional programs and events for LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual) student communities and their allies at NYU; manages and facilitates LGBTQIA+ education and training; advises LGBTQIA+ student organizations and leadership programs/cohorts; supervises student staff; manages program/event, education, and leadership programs budget; manages marketing (e.g. social media, graphic design, website); serves as a resource for LGBTQIA+ students; and supports the day-to-day functioning of the LGBTQ Student Center in the absence of the Director. The aforementioned responsibilities are done in collaboration with key student-serving stakeholders at the University within administrative and academic units. ? As a part of this unit, the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Student Center supports projects and initiatives within the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation. ? Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Social Sciences, Counseling, or Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies, or equivalent.? Preferred Education Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Social Sciences, Counseling, or Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies, or related field.? Required Experience 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.? Relevant experience working with students, faculty, and administrators, specifically LGBTQIA+ students and students of other diverse identities.? Relevant experience developing programs/events, facilitating training and workshops, providing student group advisement, supervising student staff, and budget management.? ?? Preferred Experience Strong experience developing curriculum and development of leadership programs. Experience with program assessment and evaluation. Graphic design, social media, and marketing experience.?? Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current trends and needs of LGBTQIA+ communities, specifically within a higher education context. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.? Preferred?Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ?Ability to develop LGBTQIA+ programs and initiatives from an intersectional framework.? Technical ability to execute graphic design (e.g. Adobe Suite), web design, and social media.
